“OMG the puppie!”

Hi again. Due to my exams I’ll just do a smaller summary but still the usual thoughts. By the way, to all the readers of our blog, be more active.

“He’s among the mortals to save the puppies”

Summary:

Akira and Morimi finnaly arrive at his house, but it turns out that it’s a mall. A dog (with little angel wings on his back) was waiting for him. Meanwhile, Kondou arrived at the mall in hope of getting Akira’s phone. While Morimi and Akira were exploring the mall, he found the place where that suspicious photo with him and all the naked guys was taken. Akira asks Juiz to get a movie (that Morimi liked) so they could see it together. When Akira was in the projecting room , Kondou confronts him violently and takes his phone. While he was getting punched, he managed to take Kondou detective identification, and then  collapsed . The next day, Akira wakes up and calls to his phone and Kondou picked up. They marked a place so they could trade the phone (that Kondou couldn’t use, it needed the owners fingertip) by the I.D.. When Akira arrived at the place, Kondou was laying with a stab wound (inflicted  by his wife). This is just a really really brief summary of what’s happened. I strongly recommend that you see the episode to understand lots of details that I didn’t mentioned here.

Thoughts:

So, unlike I imagined, number IV, Kondou, the detective and messiah that was after Akira, suddenly gets killed. Honestly I thought that he would play a more interesting and active role in progress of the story, rather than get killed in that stupid way. In this episode we were introduced to some factors that  add even more mystery to this anime. One of those factors (and I think one of the most important) it’s that if one of the messiah’s runs out of money he gets killed. Other aspect was mentioned by Kondou, “Seleção are the people forced into playing this shitty game.” so this made me think that maybe all the messiah’s are just puppets in a bigger “game”. The last factor is the NEET thing, mentioned in the last episode that now makes more sense. Why would Akira want to kill them? He bought the Mall and made them captive there because he knew that the missile would explode. So maybe the missile was his idea too. I think that after that he asked Juiz to wipe his memories. Why? We don’t know yet.

Well, Morimi didn’t do anything important for the episode. By the way, why she didn’t go look for Akira in the middle/end of the movie? And just one more thing to say: the dog with the wings! It’s kind of cute but I think that there is some meaning to the wings. If not, why wings? It would look much cooler a mini leather jacket or something like that.

The reason why we did this contest was actually to see how many active/regular reader we had, well we were disappointed there was only 1 entry for such a easy contest. It makes  us wonder if there is still a point continuing this blog but for now we will continue writing.

None likes the Jew…. Darcsen.

Ok so I decided to review Valkyria Chronicles, it’s turning even better than I thought and if it begins to suck I will just blog something else next season but I doubt that will  happen. Oh, I hope none gets offended by the Jewish jokes,  I just said that because the way the Darcsens reminds me the way the Jewish were treated in WW2.

In this episode we get introduced to squad 7 and the rest of the militia (the regiment captain really looks similar to Kati), so far the only members who got a detailed introduction besides the Bruhn veterans were “Rosie” and Largo. They are the typical arrogant guys who at first dismiss the leader as an inexperience idiot but as the time passes they grow to respect and obey him.

It seems Rosie’s hate for Isara will probably  be a recurring theme in the show  and it also made curious about the Darcsen. Why people hate them so much? What exactly was the Darcsen calamity?

Gunther old friend also seems an rather interesting character I wonder if he is going to use history in battle inthe same way  Gunther uses biology. Nevertheless I look forward to see is eccentricities, we were already able to see a bit of them in the preview xD

I don’t know how they will introduce the rest of the character but I expect something like ” character of the week” episodes.

Besides the introductions, squad seven 7 also got their first taste of  battle. I find amusing that were the military was completely worthless just a single militia squad succeeded easily.

Anyway the battle was way to short, they ought to have made it bigger, I hope the rest of them aren’t like this. Gunther strategy was smart although I found pretty dumb that the Imperial soldiers didn’t considered the possibility of an amphibious assault. They also surrendered such an important position way to quickly although it can be understandable as they didn’t knew the strength of the enemy force.

I was kind of surprised none punished Gunther for taking such an independent action if this was another show like Zeta for example, Gunther would have received such a “correction” that he would be bleeding all over the place.

Next week we will have a light comedy episode and we will get to see how thing work in the Imperial side.

“He doesn’t have memories but he remembers the movies he has seen..”

Hi again! Have you seen this episode? I think it’s pretty amazing. The story of Eden of the East (Higashi no Eden) is now building up, making the anime more and more addictive. When I finished the episode I felt like I couldn’t stop thinking about it.

“Poor guy… Why my memories don’t get wiped too?”

Summary:

Well, I’ll start with a summary of the episode, as I usually do. The last episode ends with Morimi and Takizawa in the airport, ready to take the next flight to Tokyo. Logically, this episode begins with both of them flying over the crater formed by the missile impact. To be more precise, it’s not just one crater. Tokyo was hit by a lot of missiles in the last months. The former impacts had a name, Careless Monday, because suddenly, in the previous year, missiles came flying to Tokyo and no one expected it, even the authorities.

When they arrive at the airport, Takaziwa receives a call from Juiz, the mysterious voice that is probably behind his memory loss. Juiz called him IX (number 9)like if he was some kind of agent/study object. Apparently he had entered the active area of Seleçao (probably the organization behind all this). Juiz also said that his balance was 8,262,307,719 yen. This money is used to request services from Juiz that, basically, can do whatever he wants. Meanwhile, another Seleçao member, IV, is watching every yen that Takizawa spends.

When Morimi and Takizawa left the airport, Takizawa leaves her saying  he wanted to check the address of his home in the passport (he would return a bit later because obviously with his memories wiped he didn’t knew where the street  was), getting Morimi very upset  because she taught she scared a potential prince. After his return to Morimi, she confirmed that his home was in one of the craters, so it was destroyed by one of the missiles on the Careless Monday. IV, that was following Takizawa, finally founds him. Well, as a cop, IV asked to see Takizawa’s passport, probably to gather more information about him. When Morimi and Takizawa arrived at the dock (he needed to take the boat to continue the way to his home), they started talking about their past (I’ll omit that). Meanwhile we got a glimpse of the “I can do whatever you want” that Juiz spoke about. IV was approached by some weird guys asking him for 2 million yen (probably from a past “business”). He just asked Juiz to kill them and, in a stylish way, they were killed. Morimi and Takizawa, still in the boat, talked about Morimi’s trip to New York. They end up taking a picture together, endind the episode this way.

Thoughts:

I think it was a great episode , by explaining some of the main points of the story (like the Careless Monday, Morimi’s past and giving some clues about the Seleçao), it made us more comfortable with the setting.

I personally didn’t like the attitude of Takizawa when he left the airport. The girl ask him to go take a cup of tea and he totally dumps her? After the help that she gave to him back in D.C.? And then he comes back just because he needed her! I think it was a bit selfish. But he made up when he was getting on the boat and made her come with him. Morimi probably realized that he might be her prince and definitely doesn’t want to let him escape, that was obvious when she was at the airport bathroom speaking to herself “maybe if I smiled more” and things like that. But we can easily say , by the way that the story is developing, that they will end up together.

I also like the way the organization works: if you just want to kill someone the coolest way possible just ask Juiz. Obviously Takizawa is an important piece of the organization or he wouldn’t have access to so much money. The bad thing is that every time Juiz makes a wish possible, it spends some money from the user’s account. And I think that at least money is what IV is looking on Takizawa. Lets wait for the next episode!

What I mean is that Axis Powers Hetalia is going to get a 2nd season, fuck yeah. I am pretty excited with this news, Hetalia is so damn hilarious that you can almost ignore all  the yaoi vibes in it. I know some of you may think that this anime is childish, well you are wrong, would a kids show say that Germany is into bondage and furry and make fun of the size of Japan’s penis,  I think not.

Anyway this is great news, I hope they add Korea just to annoy the anti-hetalia Korean bastards.

“He’s not at home”

First of all, hi again! Since Bleach is turning into a big fail (just my opinion, they can do much better), I couldn’t do the reviews without my karma bugging me, so I choose mental sanity rather than do the reviews. But now I’m back on the game with Eden of the East, which I think it has a lot of potential to become a great anime.  Well, let’s get started.

I’ll begin with the usual (ok, it’s not usual but it’ll become) episode summary. It begins when a girl is heading to see the White House, in Washington D.C. .Why? Because she thought it was the center of the world. Let me warn you that the center of the world (for what I’ve heard) is hot, unlike D.C.. Her objective was to throw a coin into the fountain to make a wish. Probably she wanted to meet her prince and that was about to happen! There were two policemen who didn’t enjoy seeing her throwing coins at the fountain. And a naked guy (with amnesia)  jumps out from bushes with a gun and a cell phone on his hands! The agents tried to chase him but he managed to avoid them pretty easily. Then he meets the girl, whom gives him some of her outer clothes and after wearing them he rans away. In her clothes were her wallet and passport.

“USA, the land where you can run naked with a gun in your hand and no one cares”

“She doesn’t want to see it”

So she realized it and followed him. While he was running, and avoiding the cops were trying to arrest him, he stopped a bit to check the cell phone in hope to get some information about his past. He clicked on a big button on the back of the cell phone and he heard a voice, Juiz’s voice. Basically Juiz said that his memories were erased and told him to head to his home. He arrived to his (crappy) apartment. There was a closet full of guns, ammunition’s and fake passports. Obviously he thought he was a terrorist. In a hurry to don’t miss her flight, Morimi managed to find his apartment. He gave her the passport and took her to the airport. He chose one of the fake passports he had on the closet to be his identity (and at the airport he confirmed it wasn’t a fake passport, so it must be his real identity) and burned the others. His name was Akira Takizawa. To run away from all that was happening to him, Takizawa decided to head back with Morimi to Japan. While in the airport, they discovered that Tokyo suffered a missile attack.

“It’s so hairy and old… And yet it seems usual”

I think this anime has a great potential. In my opinion, the opening is one of the most important thing to cause a good first impression, and this anime had a great one. The animation is also good,  differs a bit from the traditional in some details. Based on all that facts about Takizawa, his memory loss, the strange phone call and the guns, fake passports and ammo in his possession, we can assume that there is some strange (maybe terrorist) organization with some kind of relation with him. Takizawa adapted very well to his amnesia and running away of Washington was the best thing he could do to avoid problems. Of course, we all know that he will have a lot of them. Another fact is that Morimi has found her prince, even if she denies it. Anyway, we can see that she’s a bit dependable which obviously will affect the course of the story between her and Takizawa. I think the overall action his very well constructed, and I have to say that the episode caught my attention from the very beginning,and it has lost of possibilities to grow an intense, and also enjoyable, story, full of subtle touches of comedy.

I know that this post is quite late , somethings came up and I was just able to write it now >_<.  I have to say I was pleasantly surprised with Gonzo, I didn’t have much expectations for this show but Shangri-la’s first ep was quite good.

Did anyone actually understood all that was said in this part?

Shangri-la is set in a fictitious future where due to Global warming people live in jungle cities and some kind of Carbon taxes was imposed in every country so that the pollution can be reduced.  The main lead Kuniko is the future leader of a group called “Metal age”  which opposes Atlas, some kind of government organization, and the Carbon taxes.

First I have to praise the setting besides looking awesome, if you think about it,  it’s actually something that could happen in real life. It’s always good to see an anime that tries to transmit a useful message, in this case the good ol’protect the environment and stop polluting one.

The character design looks awesome, Gonzo made a great job. I won’t talk much about their personalities since it’s the first ep but I really find Kuniko downright annoying, she is just too hyperactive and childish to my taste but needless to say the transsexual is brilliant, he managed to give a great deal of comedy to the episode  (Ya, you probably already noticed I tend to dislike main characters but like the rest of the cast).

Another interesting thing is the several groups present in this show, Metal Age, Atlas, Ishida Finance, etc.. I look forward to see how they will all interact.

And I Just LOVED the op, I became a great fan of May’n since Macross F.

But there were also several aspects I disliked about this episode. First Kuniko besides having super human reflexes, can also destroy tanks and defeat soldiers using only a boomerang and speaking of soldiers, c’mon it’s not that hard to hit a single little girl.

Another thing I disliked was the talk between the Ishida Finance’s girl and the foreign minister, It’s not that was bad but It was just to deep and confusing for the first episode besides me I know several people who didn’t understood it very well, hell just check a random forum and see it for yourself.

Now I just hope that Gonzo doesn’t turn this in another trainwreck, this show as a lot of potential and I would hate to see it ruined. Personally I am really looking forward for the next episode, they left us with a pretty good cliffhanger.

Kuniko is the new Neo
